Marry me, Science Friday.  There has got to be some way to make art using this method, I’m thinking you could sprinkle on the rosin to aquatint a zinc plate, make the patterns on it, and then very very carefully move it to the hotplate?  Also somehow doing this on a huge scale in an installation would be awesome.
